Software Licensing

All Providence/Oris software licenses use a subscription-based model and are not perpetural licenses. The inital purchase price includes the first year of maintenance fees. The license may be renewed at the end of the subscription year upon receipt of an annual maintenance fee.

All Providence/Oris software licenses are issued on a per-user basis (not a per-computer basis). All software users must be licensed regardless of the location of the computers where the software is installed.

License Details (including 2024 Updates)

Single User Licenses

A Single User license is assigned to a single individual user, regardless of user location. The software may be installed on several computers including remote servers and virtual machines so long as the software is operated by the designated single user only. New for 2024:

  • The name and email address of the designated single user must be provided to Providence/Oris.
  • Each Single User license holder is entitled to one complimentary 6-month BEEST trainee license each year.
  • If multiple single-user licenses are purchased at the same time2, one initial single user license will be full price and all additional new single user licenses will be half price. Each single user will be charged a full price annual maintenance fee at the end of the licensed year.

Multi User Licenses

A Multi User license is assigned to all employees that live in a specific geographical location (a single city or metro area). The software may be installed on multiple computers including remote servers and virtual machines so long as the software is operated by employees that are physically located in the same geographical location. New for 2024:

  • The names and email addresses of all employees that share the Multi User license must be provided to Providence/Oris.
  • Each Multi User license holder is entitled to one complimentary 6-month BEEST trainee license each year for someone outside of the geographic area covered by the Multi User license. Please note that only 1 trainee license per year will be provided each year (not one for each employee in the geographic area).
  • NO NEW MULTI USER LICENSES WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 30, 2024. Existing Multi User Licenses may be renewed, but no new Multi User licenses will be sold after this date.
  • NO EXISTING SINGLE USER LICENSES MAY BE UPGRADED TO MULTI USER LICENSES AFTER JUNE 30, 2024

If you are interested in upgrading an existing Single User license or purchasing a new Multi User license before they are removed from our catalogue, please contact us immediately for a quote: (sales@providenceoris.com).

Max-3 Licenses

A Max-3 license allows 3 employees to share a single BEEST license, regardless of the employees’ locations. The software may be installed on multiple computers including remote servers and virtual machines so long as the software is operated only by the 3 employees designated in the Max-3 license.
New for 2024:

  • The names and email addresses of all employees that share the Max-3 license must be provided to Providence/Oris.
  • Each Max-3 license holder is entitled to one complimentary 6-month BEEST trainee license each year for someone not already covered by the Max-3 license. Please note that only 1 trainee license per year will be provided each year (not one for each of the 3 employees covered under the Max-3 license).
  • NO NEW MAX-3 LICENSES WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 30, 2024. Existing Max-3 Licenses may be renewed, but no new Max-3 licenses will be sold after this date.

  1. A trainee license will only be issued to a single individual once.  After the trainee license expires a new BEEST license purchase will be required to continue using the software.  Please note that trainee licenses apply to BEEST only (not to AerScreen or AERMOD Wizard). ↩︎
  2. For clarity, licenses purchased “at the same time” means all on the same day (though the website) or all with a single check or ACH payment.  For example. if a full price initial single user license is purchased in March, and another initial single user license is purchased in July – these will both be full price purchases. ↩︎
