Overview
Do you need to process meteorological data with AERMET and must use upper air data in the IGRA format? It’s can be a little tricky because:
- The IGRA files can be enormous! Opening the file and cutting out one year at a time is difficult with regular text editors. Also,
- Some of the IGRA data is missing the surface level sounding elevation. This is simply the elevation of the station, but AERMET can’t process sounding with missing elevation data
Enter – IGRA Files Extractor. This utility will easily extract any range of dates you specify from an IGRA file, and fill in missing surface sounding elevations if requested.
